Knowing Pinhole Photography
Over the last few days of downloading several apps for the iPhone, I stumbled across some good photography apps. They might not be all that great but decent enough for taking pictures from an iPhone 4G. I must say these apps are like a treat for people who do not own fancy DSLR’s but are intrigued about photography. I own a Canon SX110 IS, which is a good bridge camera for beginners. And I have learnt a lot of photography using this baby.
So.... the Pinhole Cam app caught my attention as I wasn’t really educated about pinhole photography and this seemed like a good opportunity to learn. It really enhances the way you can take still images. I took a few pictures using this app and I was really impressed. And so, I read about pinhole photography on the internet (a great source for all kinds of instant information ;).
Basically, pinhole photography was known way back in the 4th century. Pinhole cameras were used for safely viewing solar eclipses as the image was seen indirectly and in low intensity as compared to viewing it through the naked eye. The mechanism that is used in these cameras is to capture the light passing through the aperture and provides an inverted image. The smaller the size of the aperture, the sharper is the image. Although, you do get dimmer images, it provides good photography effects. Also, you can reduce the shutter speed or use longer exposures to experiment with the effects it can produce. And the best part is that you can create a pinhole camera at home using a thin aluminum sheet and a pin. Now that is something I tried for fun and I guess it worked to some extent. The first two images taken from the canon with shutter priority and aperture 1/20 and F8.0, and 0'3 and F3.2 respectively. The rest taken from the iPhone app.
A Seed
Whoever thought that freedom of speech did exist. Look around, look beyond yourself. There so much that we dont see. Right from the little begger children to the voilence around the country. This is to all my fellow men, how can u sit there, n just watch, get up stand up for your rights. If this is a world to live in then make it worth living. Dont just close your eyes, and hide beneath those cushioned pillows. While u rest, there are people dieing, people being burnt to death, mercilessly and brutally being killed. How can we be blind, how can we just close our eyes and move on. Even a single individual can change alot. People carrying out rallies for unnecessary things.I say, "People fight for the just". No am not being political or even trying to be a social worker. Am just trying to be a common person who along with everyone else can change the world. Everyone has it in them, you just need to stand up, stop cribbing about ur so called lives, theres more people give it a thought.
